Boerewors roll

INGREDIENTS

Southern-African cuisine meets East-African flair. Whether enjoyed, simply served with a splash of tomato sauce or packed full of gourmet ingredients.

Chicken Boerewors

Halal Kenchic chicken boerewors 500g
2
large onions, thinly sliced

tbsp. sunflower oil
1
tbsp. balsamic vinegar
Pepper to taste
4
fresh hotdog rolls
Coleslaw, to serve
2
cans chopped tomatoes
1
tbsp. sugar
Salt to taste

Kenchic boerewors
Mustard, to serve

Method

  1. Heat the sunflower oil in a large pan and add the sliced onions.
  2. Gently fry for 5-10 minutes until the onions are soft and golden then set aside.
  3. For the tomato relish, add the chopped tomatoes, sugar, balsamic vinegar, and salt and pepper to taste into a small pot and allow it to reduce on a medium heat for 5-10 minutes until it has thickened slightly.
  4. Serve the boerewors in the hotdog rolls with some mustard, tomato relish, and fried onions with coleslaw on the side.
